Valeir blond is a dry-hopped specialty beer with a very subtle spicy and hoppy taste. It is a wonderfully soft and refreshing beer, mildly bitter in the aftertaste and with a remarkably dry aftertaste.
Dry hopping means that there is a second addition of hops during the lagering of the beer. In the past, hops were mainly added as a preservative. The brewers added another handful of hops to the keg of beer before taking it to the cellar for storage. This appeared to influence not only the shelf life of the beer, but also the taste. This discovery led to the emergence of dry-hopping as a technique to add extra flavor to beer, even after it was no longer necessary to store beer for a long time.
