Cuvée des Jacobins is a 100% foeder beer. This is an unadulterated lambic, and has matured for 18 months in oak barrels. The beer has a robust character but has a beautiful and sophisticated content with an aftertaste of vanilla, dried cherries and cocoa. This is a complex, but very balanced sour beer.

The beer is literally popular: At the Brussels Beer Challenge 2013, the beer won a silver medal and at the World Beer Awards 2014, Cuvee des Jacobins won a gold medal.

JACOBINS?
The name Jacobins refers to the famous French Dominican monastery, the Hospice Saint Jacques, built in 1218 to accommodate pilgrims on their way to Compostela. Omer Rémi (so Omer I) briefly stayed in the Rue des Jacobins in Paris during the First World War and got the idea to use the name for one of his beers later on.

It was on this street that the revolutionaries met after October 1789, when the government was moved to Paris. The most famous member of this influential radical party in the French Revolution was Robespierre.
