Westmalle Dubbel is a Belgian beer that is brewed in the Trappist abbey of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Westmalle.
This brown beer with the color of mahogany gives a light brown and abundant, lasting head in the glass. The color is the result of the double malt dose administered to this Westmalle. A powerful aroma of malt that smells of flowers escapes from the glass with notes of caramelized alcohol and yeast.
The finesse of this beer is clearly visible in the aftertaste. The presence of licorice and subtly roasted caramel immediately catches the eye, alongside roasted notes and a dry bitterness that lingers for a long time. The malt flavors develop slowly on the palate. A beer that stands out because of its finesse and delicate nature.
