Clear gold beer with an exceptional bouquet of herbs, a soft start that flows into a plump, spicy taste and a slightly bitter, dry aftertaste.
Charles V (1500-1558) was born in Ghent and spent a large part of his youth in Belgium.
He is considered one of the greatest emperors ever. His Empire was eventually so great that it was said that "the sun never set on it". Charles V is often regarded as the forerunner of Europe.
He was not only a great figure, but also an avid beer lover. In honor of this, Haacht Brewery created these imperial beers.
