Full-bodied, balanced, spicy and fruity. This is how this dark abbey beer, refermented in the bottle, shows itself. You smell caramel and sweet fruit, taste caramel, roasted malt, coffee, bitter chocolate, alcohol and hop bitters until the dry aftertaste. Everything is nicely balanced.
Smell / aromas: Sultry scent of sweet malt and caramel followed by dark fruit and a pleasant touch of black chocolate.
Taste: Full-bodied and creamy, dark malt, impressions of bitter chocolate and sweet fruit (figs, dark raisins,…), light touch of yeast, surprisingly dry aftertaste.
