Chimay Blauw is a dark beer that gets better with age. It combines aromas of fruit and chocolate, which turn into a sweet mocha with a spicy character.
Since 2015, Chimay has reintroduced an artisanal method: a second fermentation of the Grande Réserve in wooden barrels.
This fermentation and maturation method provides exceptional aromas and a complex taste. The taste depends on the barrel used. This beer undergoes three fermentations.
The Grande Réserve, fermented in barrels, is placed in a black bottle to improve the aging of the product. It is even better to taste with its special glass.
